How To Sell A Rolex Watch For The Best Price?
Rolex is one of the most iconic watch brands so keeping your Rolex in excellent condition is very important. Here are our recommendations on how to get the most value for your Rolex.
Keep the Documentation
The box and papers add value to your Rolex watch—especially if these are still in great condition.
Keep Your Rolex in its Box
Our experts suggest keeping your watch in its box to minimise damage. Damage will have a direct impact on the value.
Service Your Watch
Servicing your watch regularly, keeping all the links and service receipts will help when it comes to resell.
History Of Rolex
In 1905, German-born Hans Wilsdorf, who had worked in the Swiss watchmaking industry and had moved to London to work for a British horologer, partnered with Alfred Davis to found watchmaking firm Wilsdorf & Davis in Hatton Garden. In 1908, he changed the fledging firm’s name to Rolex because the made-up name was short, easy to remember, and easy to pronounce. By 1926, when it introduced its Oyster (the world’s first waterproof watch), Rolex had made its reputation for innovative, superbly engineered timepieces—a trend that it has continued into the 21st century with the invention of the Deepsea, a waterproof watch able to withstand depths 100 times what any human could endure.
An authentic Rolex is always in demand and can command a high resale price. Click the Get Your Offer button to receive your initial estimate on your timepiece. One of our specialists will be in touch shortly to establish the next steps with you.
Made for Adventure
Rolex has been worn by the best-known explorers and athletes of our times. To promote its waterproof properties, Mercedes Gleitze wore a Rolex Oyster when she swam the English channel in 1927. Edmund Hillary wore an Oyster when he conquered Mount Everest in 1953. Today, the company sponsors contests in golf, motor sports, show jumping, tennis, and yachting, while its roster of brand ambassadors includes legendary names ranging from mountain climber Ed Veisturs to endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh, along with golfer Tiger Woods, race car drive Jackie Stewart, and tennis champion Roger Federer.
A Leading Name in Watches
All Rolex timepieces are handmade in Switzerland with the finest materials: 950 platinum (refined on the factory premises), 18K gold (also refined at the company’s in-house foundry), internally flawless gems (set by specially trained gem setters), and Oystersteel (a top-grade alloy equivalent to the alloys used in the aerospace industry). Before it leaves the factory, each and every Rolex is pressure-tested to determine that there are no air leaks in the case.
