Jaeger LeCoultre History
With a string of inventions to its name, Jaeger LeCoultre not only has a high resale price but also manufactures some of the most complicated watches in the world.
LeCoultre was founded in 1833 by 30-year-old Antoine LeCoultre who would go on to invent the world’s most precise measuring instrument: the Millionmetre.
Along with this, LeCoultre has registered about 400 patents and hundreds of inventions including the worlds thinnest pocket watch in 1907 and the first automatic alarm watch, the Memovox, in 1956.

Made Locally With Care
Jaeger LeCoultre is one of the few companies that make every single part for their watches within their 4 walls. The Reverso remains one of the most popular lines, designed in 1931 with a unique swivel case to withstand shocks on the polo field.
In 1932 David LeCoultre made a bid to acquire a watch company in dire financial straits. The company was Patek Philippe. The Stern brothers, however, went on to acquire the company.
